So you think KENT has talent!

Feb. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- 'So you think KENT has talent!' is an exciting new event to celebrate the talent in the Kent Community as well as raise money for a local charity, Kent Youth and Family Services. (http://kyfs.org/)

The talent contest has three separate age categories: youth (12 and under), teen (13 – 19) and adult (20+).  There are large cash prizes thanks to the generosity of  local businesses.  All types of talent are welcome to participate.  Register at www.allegrodance.com by April 30th.  Preliminary qualifications will take place on Saturday, May 7th from 3-8 PM. Your performance time on the 7th will be determined shortly after your registration.

The preliminary qualifications will narrow the contestants down to 5 acts per age division.  The 15 finalists will perform at the May 21st showcase and will compete for the Grand Prize amount of $1,000!!!  Other cash prizes are as follows: 1st place in each age division earns $500, 2nd place $250 and 3rd place $100.  

Judges for both the preliminary qualification and the final competition are leaders in the Kent community that are associated with the performing arts.

Winners of each age category and the Grand Prize winner will perform at Kent Cornucopia Days and participate in a float in the Kent Cornucopia Parade celebrating their achievement.  Media attention and the cash prizes are also exciting benefits of winning this competition.
