LG Electronics stands by Jeddah

Following the corporate social responsibility and commitment towards supporting the society, LG Electronics and partners donated LG Products to 70 flood victim families.

Feb. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- Jeddah, 23rd Feb 2011- The massive flooding that resulted in catastrophic devastation in Jeddah, more than 2000 families have been displaced and left homeless.  LG Electronics with Al Oyoon Charitable organisation have banded together to support the flood victim families and donate LG electronics products that would be necessary to start of new home. LCD Screens, Refrigerators, Washing Machines, Microwave and Air conditioners, Vacuum Cleaners, Mobile Phones etc will be given to the families based on their requirement. Each family would be given any two or three LG products.

With the help of Oyoon Charitable organisation 70 familles have been shortlisted who Will recieve these Product from LG. The floods have uprooted hundreds from their homes and are still in need of our support. Every individual, every brand, every company must do everything possible to help the affected people in areas best suited to their core strengths. Only in this way will we be able to maximize our impact and attend to the needs and help the society and community of Jeddah during this difficult period of time.  Hence, as a Corporate Brand,  we can do from our end .is to give away LG products to needed families, so that they can utlize while setting-up their homes, this is one of the noble cause initiated by LG Electronics ;  said Mr. John Lee, the Managing Director of LG Electronics, jeddah - KSA.

This initative is a part of LG’s global Corporate social responsiblity objectives i.e to  give back to the community. LG is also launching a blood donation campaign under the same social commitment umbrella.

Referring to the Floods and destruction Mr. Mohammad Khan, the Marketing & PR Manager of LG Eectronics, KSA said ‘The calamity of the recent Jeddah Floods opened the eyes of many to the positive effects of such volunteer work. It is our communal duty to encourage this spirit of social service, to continue both in good times and in bad.

The donations are worth 1 day salary of LG Electronics staff. The objective of this campaign is to provide relief to flood victims and build sense of corporate social responsibility among the people. The campaign has also been actively publicized on social networking sites, which gained a lot of followers.


Further  Mr John Lee, thanked the charity organization Oyoon Al Jeddah  for their kind support and efforts for facilitating this donation activity.
