March 3, 2011 - PRLog -- (Port Charlotte, FL) – It’s a show filled with death-defying feats, the whir of engines and a hushed crowd anticipating the next great dive towards earth. The 2011 Florida International Air Show returns to the skies on March 26-27 in Punta Gorda, Florida at the Charlotte County Airport. This year marks the 31st anniversary of the annual event.

Each year the International Air Show features the best and most dramatic aerial demonstrations. The performers range from extreme stunt pilots who enjoy pushing the envelope to graceful gliders who gently sail across the blue skies.

Air Boss, Bob Hall, recently announced the line-up of this year’s show, which will feature some of the world’s top aerobatic pilots and performers including the Heavy Metal Jet Team, Misty Blues All-Woman Skydiving Team and OTTO the Helicopter.  The show will also feature some of the world’s fastest planes including the F-16 and F-22, as well as some vintage aircrafts such as the B-25.

“We know our audience always enjoys a presentation by our high performance military aircrafts.” says Hall.

This year’s special guests include the infamous Doolittle Tokyo Raiders, who were instrumental in ending the war against Japan.   Three of the surviving six members will be on-site to sign autographs and meet excited Air Show fans.  History buffs will not want to miss this once in a lifetime chance to meet three genuine American heroes.

The full schedule of pilots and performers are now listed on the Air Show’s web site: www.FloridaAirShow.com.

Thousands of spectators are expected to attend the Florida International Air Show, which always draws a large crowd from all across the state.

Tickets are on sale now at  www.FloridaAirShow.com.  All proceeds from this annual event go to support local charities in Southwest Florida.
