The World Economic Forum has just announced that Jaime Nack will be recognized as a 2011 Young Global Leader (YGL). The YGL honor is annually bestowed upon 200 of the world’s most outstanding leaders below the age of 40.

March 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Jaime Nack, President and Founder of the environmental consulting firm Three Squares Inc., has been chosen by the World Economic Forum as a member of its 2011 class of Young Global Leaders (YGL).

A globally recognized environmental advocate, Nack has reduced the environmental impact of many of the world's most prominent and large-scale events, taking on such roles as Director of Sustainability and Greening Operations for the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

As President of Los Angeles-based Three Squares Inc. (TSI), Nack has led the development of major sustainability initiatives on behalf of corporate entities and public agencies including the South Coast Air Quality Management District and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

In addition to her leadership at TSI, Nack serves as President of the Southern California Green Meeting Industry Council Chapter and has played a major role in establishing national green meeting standards. She is also a distinguished presenter on behalf of Vice President Al Gore's The Climate Project.

“I am thrilled and honored to have been selected as a member of the 2011 class of Young Global Leaders,” commented Nack. “Being named a YGL is an unparalleled opportunity to exchange innovative ideas about how to improve the world with an incredibly broad and accomplished community.”

The honor, bestowed each year by the Forum, recognizes up to 200 outstanding young leaders from around the world for their professional accomplishments, commitment to society and potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world. Nack was selected for the honor by a distinguished panel chaired by Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan.

The new 2011 class represents all regions: East Asia (50), South Asia (18), Europe (42), Middle East and North Africa (13), sub-Saharan Africa (14), North America (37) and Latin America (16). This year’s selection has more gender balance than ever, with 44% women.

As a member of the 2011 Young Global Leaders class, Nack will work with fellow honorees including Hala Gorani, Anchor at CNN, and Blake Mycoskie, Founder of TOMS Shoes, to discover innovative solutions to today’s most pressing challenges.
