By: Ceri shaw The West Coast Eisteddfod is an annual celebration of Welsh and American Welsh culture and heritage. Hosted in Portland for the last two years, this year's event is being held in L.A. as a result of a collaboration between AmeriCymru ( the premier Welsh American social networking site ) and L.A. based publisher A Raven Above Press . Lorin Morgan-Richards of A Raven Above Press said:- " The 2011 West Coast Eisteddfod will be marking a lot of firsts for Welsh Americans. There has not been an Eisteddfod in L.A. since 1926 when Pasadena Playhouse arranged a series of one act plays." AmeriCymru joint editor Gaabriel Becket observed that:-"We are very proud and pleased to be welcoming Paul to our event this year. It will allow people to get a small taste of the unique atmosphere in the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff before a Welsh Rugby international." Best known for his involvement with Welsh rugby, Paul Child is Wales' biggest-selling independent artist. In 2000, Paul Child self-financed the album Wales Forever. Although the cost was just £2,500, it has gone on to become the biggest-selling independently- In 2003, he appeared on the World In Union album alongside fellow Welsh stars Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey to commemorate the Rugby World Cup. His rugby connection has continued with pre-match appearances at the Millennium Stadium. Each time he's sung before the match, Wales have registered a victory. http://www.youtube.com/ In a recent interview with AmeriCymru ( http://americymru.net/ # # # Web design and site promotion.
