Sculpture at The Grove in Hertfordshire

Royal Academy Sculpture Exhibition throughout the grounds of The Grove in Hertfordshire
By: Katie O'Lone

April 5, 2011 - PRLog -- April 2011: This summer the public will be able to get up close to sixty really exciting works of sculpture from both talented emerging artists and established sculptors. ‘Sculpture at The Grove’ in the gardens and grounds of The Grove, in Hertfordshire (May to August) will be laid out so that the public can walk through the gardens and grounds and enjoy the works at their own pace.

A marble figure of a geisha; a rope ball high up in a tree; a pair of lithe lurchers; seed pods suspended in mid-air; delicate inflatable shapes; a dancing Amazon woman and glinting glass installations: ‘Sculpture at The Grove’ will include small and monumental pieces in figurative and abstract styles by members of the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists, graduates from the country’s best art colleges, as well as internationally acclaimed artists from Australia, Spain and Holland.

All the works – which are inspired by The Grove’s gardens and grounds - will be for sale, with affordable prices starting from £1,500.

The perfect opportunity to invest in a work by the next Rachel Whiteread or Antony Gormley.

There is no entry fee for ‘Sculpture at The Grove’ and the exhibition is open to all. The Grove, a deeply stylish five-star resort, will be running a series of art weekends and events during the summer. And, after walking the sculpture trail, don’t miss the deliciously cerebral Sculpture Afternoon Tea in the elegant ‘groovy grand’ drawing rooms in the original Mansion - where every cake is inspired by a work in the exhibition….
