Follow on Google News | Dr. Brian Johnson to Head NSCS' New Community College DivisionThe National Society of Collegiate Scholars welcomes Dr. Brian K. Johnson into the organization as VP, Community College Division.
By: NSCS NSCS, an honor society for high-achieving first and second year college students is the only honors organization with chapter at two-year and four-year colleges. The organization was founded in 1994 and has nearly 300 chapters across the US and Puerto Rico. Dr. Johnson was formerly president of Montgomery College in Maryland, the College experienced record-high enrollment. Prior to working at Montgomery College, he served as chief executive officer of the Allegheny Campus and system-wide senior vice president for student and community services for the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He earned his Ed.D. in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University, an M.A. in education in counseling/human relations from Northern Arizona University, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Ottawa University. “We’re pleased to welcome Dr Johnson to the team,” said NSCS’ CEO & Founder Stephen E Loflin. “He brings a long and illustrious history in the community college world and he is a tremendous asset to NSCS and our members.” In his position as VP, Community College Division, Dr. Johnson will spearhead NSCS’ efforts to expand its offerings and opportunities for community college students. # # # NSCS is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is the nation's only interdisciplinary honors organization to invite first and second year college students.
