iBex 8GB Flytouch 3 Android 2.2 Tablet Gets Flash 10.1 Rivals iPad 2

April 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Ibex, the manufacturer of the iBex Flytouch 3 Superpad 2 and the Face Pad, has announced a 8gb memory upgrade for the Fly Touch 3 (FT3).

Just as Fly Touch 3 tablet owners were getting Warm and cozy 4gb iBex Flytouch 3’s, iBex just released its 8gb version Flytouch3. This move is seen as a step to start challenging the iPad 2's tablet PC market dominance.

With the open source developing operating system Google Android and Adobe Flash 10.1 support, the Flytouch 3 Already had its sights set on challenging the iPad. The main thing it lacked was a higher memory capacity; This new 8gb memory upgrade moves to close that memory gap between the iPad and the FT3.

iBex's Schmidt also re-assured 4gb Flytouch3 owners saying, “Current iBex Flytouch3 users should be able to upgrade their units themselves shortly.”

The offiicial Apad website Apad.tv announced the release of the 8gb Superpad 2 and shortly also reassuring curious tablet owners. Apad.tv explained:

“Actually there are two models available now, now people can choose 4GB or 8GB internal storage. Both units are upgradable. Once the next edition of the firmware has been tweaked for the 8GB reflashing, upgrading your 4GB tablet to 8GB is fairly easy if you decide you want to, how-to guides will be posted on the forum"

Those who are new to the Android Tablet PC market and the iBex brand, the Flytouch 3 is a 10.2" Android 2.2 (froyo) tablet PC. In February, the Flytouch3 officially dethroned the Zenithink 2 Zt-180.

While both tablets have 512mb DDR, the Fly Touch III is the only epad with 8gb nandflash. This upgrade will mean that users will have 6gb of free or unused memory as the Google Android 2.2 operating system takes up around 2 gb's.

Other iBex FT3 firmware updates include: External 3g (WCDMA) support, Adobe Flash 10.1 Support, Angry Birds Gaming support, Built-in GPS Navigator, increased battery life and iBex’s Flytouch3 custom rom offers many other neat features that the Zt-180 does not havel iBex Flytouch3 leaves the Zenithink 2 in the dust.
