April 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Premier Media Holdings, LLC, publishers of the Premier Guitar multimedia network and Guitar Squid, announced today that respected veteran guitar media professional Rich Osweiler has joined the editorial staff of Premier Guitar as associate editor. Premier Guitar also welcomes Iowa-native Katie Wilberg as its new production coordinator.

Rich Osweiler
Osweiler joins Premier Media after an almost 10-year tenure at String Letter Publishing, where he served as associate publisher and director of marketing for Acoustic Guitar and director of advertising for Strings. Possessing a BS degree in journalism from the University of Kansas, a deep respect from peers within the music industry, and experience as a working musician going back to the age of 12, Osweiler’s background and skill set are an ideal match for his new position with Premier Guitar.

“As media rapidly continues to evolve, reinvent and expand, I couldn’t be more enthused about coming onboard with Premier Guitar,” says Osweiler. “The breadth and quality of the content Premier Guitar delivers to its growing audience is unsurpassed—and the delivery options available to them allow access and the ability to share content from anywhere, at anytime, and on any platform. I’m excited to be a contributor to this well-respected team and to the momentum of Premier Guitar’s offerings. This is going to be fun.”

“We’re stoked to have Rich aboard,” says Premier Guitar Editor in Chief Shawn Hammond. “He brings a decade of heavy-duty experience in the music-media industry, and the combination of his university journalism training and his lifelong passion for both bass guitar and the 6-string bolsters PG’s position as the most forward-thinking and diverse provider of engaging, in-depth content for guitarists of all stripes. Plus, he’s a blast to work with and always cool as a cucumber.”

Katie Wilberg
Wilberg joins Premier Guitar from August Home Publishing in Des Moines, IA, a highly respected consumer enthusiast media company. Wilberg is a graduate of the University of Iowa where she earned her BA in communications.

“Katie has already demonstrated that she is and will continue to be a vital asset to the production unit of the PG staff and we're very fortunate and excited to have landed her,” says Premier Guitar operations manager Shannon Britcher. “As our audience continues to grow and as we continue to launch new platforms, it's critical that we have someone extremely talented tracking our increasing amount of initiatives. It's good to know that that this incremental flow of production is in Katie's very capable and reliable hands.”

Patti Sprague, President of Premier Media Holdings, LLC, said, “In the last year PG has developed five new digital platforms; launched an entirely new website; and are offering our marketing partners an expanding array of marketing services, with many more initiatives in development. With a rapidly expanding audience, new products and platforms, and sharply increasing revenues we are always on the prowl for great people. We’re fortunate to have added two new and key people to our team."
