KC Gets More of The Limited To Love

April 22, 2011 - PRLog -- KANSAS CITY -- Kansas City women will have more of The Limited to love with the opening of two new stores in 2011.

The iconic fashion retailer's first store to open of the year is in the Kansas City area at Town Center Plaza at 4868 West 119th Street in Leawood. Plans are in the works to open a new store at Zona Rosa in late fall 2011. The Limited currently operates a store in Oak Park Mall in Overland Park, Kansas as well.

The Leawood store is hosting a grand opening celebration the evening of April 28 and will donate a share of the Saturday, April 30 proceeds to the Women's Employment Network of Kansas City (WEN).

"The Limited is about a woman's personal success--fulfilling her potential and looking great every step of the way. That's why we're proud to partner with the Women's Employment Network for our opening," said Linda Heasley, CEO of The Limited.

WEN is a nonprofit organization that offers job-search training and resources, individualized coaching and professional case management to women. Tai Beauchamp, national correspondent for InStyle Magazine, will workshop with WEN members about workplace fashion on April 28 and will be on hand at the store opening celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. The Limited invites the public to attend this celebration by registering at http://www.thelimited.com/events .  Please note that invitations are on a first-come, first served basis.

The celebration will also feature a ribbon cutting, music, refreshments and members of The Limited's corporate management team.

The Town Center Plaza location will feature the full assortment of The Limited's Spring 2011 collection.

The Limited, with almost 230 locations nationwide has seen resurgence in its popularity and is keeping pace with demand with new store openings across the country. It had operated a store at the Town Center Plaza location previously that closed in January 2009 as negotiated by The Limited's previous owners.

"We’re thrilled to come back to Town Center Plaza," said Linda Heasley. "This is our first store opening of the year and we're slated to open up to twenty more nationwide. That's almost twice as many as we opened last year."

"The new store at Town Center Plaza will be just over 4,500 gross square feet, which is consistent with our current ideal store size," said Heasley. "Something unique and exciting about this store is the 100 feet of store window exposure."

"We're really looking forward to sharing our newest store design concept with our customers, as it demonstrates The Limited's new direction," Heasley added. "It's more feminine, more approachable and more residential in feeling."

The store will feature a light, bright and upbeat motif. Other design changes include taupe walls with white cabinets and a ‘splash’ of red – including the iconic red ceiling in the fitting rooms and cash wrap area that gives the store a modern look and feel. Wood flooring has replaced the tile of previous stores to add warmth and comfort, and chandeliers and a custom mural on the back wall carry on that residential feeling. A built in ‘runway’ allows for visual animation while featuring the latest fashions for inspiration.

The Limited has also added seating for comfort with books and magazines to make for a positive experience for shopping companions. An e-bar with instant access to thelimited.com will ensure we always have access to her size. Online orders placed from the store ship to the customer’s home free of charge. The store has also added more registers and more fitting rooms to better facilitate wardrobing and one-on-one styling.
