Gov. Rick Snyder’s May 19 Speech
 to be Broadcast via Web to Ann Arbor

April 26, 2011 - PRLog -- GRAND RAPIDS // What's next for Michigan? When Gov. Rick Snyder addresses Inforum’s annual meeting in Troy on May 19, Ann Arbor-area residents won’t have to drive there to find out.



As Michigan’s only state-wide network of professional women, Inforum plans to make the 2011 Annual Meeting a truly state-wide event by hosting a live web simulcast to Ann Arbor. Attendees at the simulcasts will be able to participate in the Q&A portion of the event by submitting questions via Twitter.



The live simulcast will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Domino’s Farms. Simulcast attendees truly will be participants at the Inforum Annual Meeting. This opportunity to “virtually” attend the Annual Meeting is just one of the new ways Inforum is using new technology to serve their members better and keep them informed.

The Ann Arbor simulcast will be sponsored by Domino's Pizza. In addition to the governor’s address, the annual meeting also will include the announcement of the 2011-12 Inforum Board of Directors.

About Rick Snyder

Republican Rick Snyder, a former businessman, was sworn in as Michigan's 48th governor on Jan. 1. Following a successful career with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), where he became a partner in six years, Snyder left his home state of Michigan to help manage Gateway Inc., where he rose to president and chief operating officer. Snyder left Gateway in 1997 and returned to Michigan to focus on building new businesses from the ground up. He raised $200 million in venture capital funds to invest in startup companies. Gov. John Engler appointed Snyder to serve as the first chair of the Michigan Economic Development Corp, in 1999. Snyder also wrote the business plan for and was the first chair for Ann Arbor SPARK, an economic development organization. From 2005 to 2007, Snyder served as the chairman of the board of Gateway and was interim CEO in 2006.
