May 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Ankh Entertainment is proud to represent the Estate of composer, William Grant Still who is known as the "Dean of Negro Composers."  He is, as well, one of Americas foremost composers. Still was the first Afro-American in the US to have a symphony performed by a major symphony orchestra.  He was the first to conduct a major symphony orchestra in the United States, when in 1936, he directed the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra in his compositions at the Hollywood Bowl. He was the first African American to conduct a major symphony orchestra in the Deep south in 1955, when he directed, the New Orleans Philharmonic at Southern University, and to conduct a White radio orchestra in New York City.  His opera, Troubled Island, was done at the City Center of Music and Drama in New York City, and is considered to be his most brilliant piece.  After Still received public acclaim, he ramained a pioneer, but in a larger sense, he was able to create music capable of interesting the greatest conductors of that time and now.    Still wrote over 150 compositions ( well over 200 if his early works could be counted), including operas, ballets, symphonies, chamber works, and arrangements of folk themes, especially Negro spirituals including instrumental, choral and solo vocal works.   William Grant Still, a distinguished member of ASCAP, is mentioned in hundreds of books published in the United States and abroad, and is himself the subject of eleven volumes available from The Master-Player Library ( a susidiary of William Grant Still Music.) www.williamgrantstill.com.

Ankh's, Foster Corder, another first, is best known as the first African-American animal photographer and for his longtime friendship with the forever and always, sports legend, Wilt Chamberlain.  He is a veteran filmmaker with three decades of experience as a production executive, producer, director, cinematographer, and writer, with more than 45 independent feature and short film credits. *http://imdb.com/name/nm0179486/*

After, Chamberlain's pasing, Foster Corder went on to become one of the most prolific and unique cinematographers of our time.  He became an expert at the art of dogs whom he trained to sit confidently for a pose. Corder's genius led him into producing, Rudy Rae Moore's classic, Dolemite, and the famous McDonald's commercials featuring non-other than comic, Sinbad.  He work reflected genius while managing his position of Director of Videography at Capitol Records.
and as a commercial animal photographer, earning top assignments from Kal Kan and Carnation's pet food lines.
Later he co-founded  Black Bird Films, were he produced television advertising for major brands including McDonald's and the California Lotto. During the glory days of music video, Foster, became of Director, Music Video Production at Capitol Records, guiding creation and execution of hit clips for M.C. As a WGA screenwriter, he sold "The Cats", an action adventure based on his life story, to Paramount Pictures; the comedic action adventure "Smokey" to Fred Silverman Productions; and the comedy The Sons of Dolemite to MGM. Additonally, he developed a TV show that is very popular now and was given one of the "Cosby" scholarships for screen writing at USC.
