Universal Life Church - What is Real Faith Based Ordination?

May 24, 2011 - PRLog -- With the emergence of online ordination, it has opened up the door to another type of scammer, he or she who dares to use the Bible or Jesus Christ for their own hidden agenda and/or personal greed. Most online ordination services are scams, individuals attempting to portray themselves as Churches or Religious Organizations, individuals with little or no education or training themselves, who dupe others into thinking they are more than just wedding ministers.

I see many online advertisements that state;

"officiate weddings, baptisms or funerals"

If you see this it should be sending up Red Flags and let me explain; The First Ammendment already allows you the right to serve as an officiant, you are not required to be ordained to do baptisms or funerals. As far as being a wedding officiant, you can serve as a wedding officiant in one of many different capacities, for example Florida provides notaries the right to officiate weddings.

Most online ordinations are legal from the sense you can officiate weddings and do nothing else, but nothing is stopping your next door neighbor from ordaining you as a wedding minister and just as legal as these online ordination services, to do so all he or she would need to do is to claim to be a Religious Organization.

BOTTOM LINE - Serving as a wedding officant is to the extent of what can be expected by being an ordained minister with most of these online ordinations service providers - You are nothing more than one who can officiate weddings.

The key to legitimate REAL faith based ordination is.....

Check out the doctrine of faith. Is there a real doctrine of faith, "To do that which is right" is a not a traditional doctrine of faith. A real doctrine of faith is for example: "The Christian Doctrine"

Do they ordain anyone and everyone? If they do, it is not an ordination within a respective faith. Some call it interfaith, this does not mean it is faith based or within any doctrine of faith. It is just fancy terminology that equates to you being nothing more than that of a Wedding Minister in accord with statute and I wish to point out it may or may not make you legal, some county clerks and wedding authority offices reject such types of ordination looking for faith based ordination only.

Faith based ordination is usually provided by someone with such authority provided by stature within the respective faith, such as a Bishop with apostolic succession to Christ.

FAITH BASED ORDINATION is the only ORDINATION that makes you more than just a wedding minister.
