Eric Hoffer Award 2011 Book Winners

The Eric Hoffer Award announces the 2011 book award winners.
 
May 26, 2011 - PRLog -- The Eric Hoffer Book Award committee has released its 2011 winners, including the Eric Hoffer Grand Prize for books, Lucky Fish by Aimee Nezhukumatathil, a stunning work of poetry from Tupelo Press.

From the US Review of Books award coverage: “Aimee Nezhukumatathil writes with ever-present inventiveness in this 2011 collection. By enfolding folk beliefs, tales, or superstitions into contemporary experience, place, or situations, these poems delineate a fascinating, unexpected adventure. …”

Prior to the grand prize selection, winners were selected in twenty-one all-inclusive categories, including:

* Best Academic Press: Writers and Their Notebooks by Diana M. Raab from University of South Carolina Press
* Best Small Press:  The Futures by Emily Lambert from Basic Books
* Best Micro Press:  An Illustrated Introduction to Taoism by Jean C. Cooper from World Wisdom
* Best Self-Published Book: Hands at Works by Summer Moon Scriver (photography) & Iris Graville from Heron Moon Press

The Eric Hoffer Award also sponsors two unique prizes: the Montaigne Medal for most thought provoking book and the da Vinci Eye for best cover art.
