Cleaning and maintaining Stainless steel Handrails.

June 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Stainless steel is a popular material and is widely used in many fabrications including Stainless steel balustrades and handrails.  Stainless steel is an extremely versatile material and will not rust or corrode easily.  And this is why it is an excellent material for handrails and Balustrades.
Stainless steel is also very easy to clean and in order to keep it looking pristine, regular cleaning is advised.
Ornamental staircases installed in exterior environments can make impressive impressions and there are many designs in which to choose from or you can have an individual unique design. Ornamental Balustrades need regular cleaning and as long as they are maintained regularly they will last the test of time.
Although Corrosion is limited on stainless steel, it does occur especially if it is not maintained and cleaned regularly and it will also affect the appearance of stainless steel balustrades making them look old and worn and when you have invested in such beautiful handrails, you will want them to look their best at all times.
Cleaning stainless steel balustrades can be done by simply using warm water and a cloth which is more than effective especially if the Balustrades are not particularly dirty. If the balustrades are showing signs of rusting then it may be necessary to use a cleaning agent.  Stainless steel cleaner is also an option for very dirty and rusty Balustrades but all instructions should be followed carefully.  Stainless steel balustrades will over time become stained and finger marks are common, stainless steel cleaner is effective in removing stubborn dirt and stains.
Soap and detergent is also effective when cleaning stainless steel and should be diluted first, once the area has been cleaned thoroughly it should be dried to avoid marks and smears.
Glass cleaner is another option and is very effective at removing smears and marks but again always follow the instructions before use and check the finish on your stainless steel balustrades to ensure it is safe to use.
There are of course many more cleaners on the market that are specifically designed for stainless steel and for specific finishes but all of the above are equally as effective.  Always check with the manufacturer before you undergo any cleaning to check that the cleaner you are using is safe.
Ornamental staircase and steel balustrades are beautiful additions to any home whether they are installed in exterior or interior environments and cleaning them regularly will ensure that they maintain their appearance .
