Top Jazz Artist Rick DellaRatta to Perform in Manhattan

New York, NY – On Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 7:30PM singer / Pianist / Composer Rick DellaRatta, considered by many to be one of the finest Jazz Artists performing today, will perform a special Benefit Concert for Global Peace Partners at Characters located at 243 W. 54th Street between 8th Avenue and Broadway in Manhattan, NY.  We will be holding a silent auction at this event and will be featuring the artwork of Jose Delacruz as well as limited edition of autographed prints by our founder Rick DellaRatta.

Special Guest of Honor: Ambassador Anwarul K. Chowdhury, Former Under-Secretary-General and High Representative of the United Nations, responsible for the most vulnerable countries of the world.  A career diplomat, he served as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations in New York from 1996 to 2001.  He also served as Bangladesh's Ambassador to Chile, Nicaragua, Peru and Venezuela, as well as Bangladesh's High Commissioner to the Bahamas and Guyana.  Ambassador Chowdhury served as President of the United Nations Security Council for two terms in 2000 and 2001 and Chairman (in 1985-86) and President (in 2000) of the UNICEF Executive Board.

Jose Delacruz is a New York City street artist currently selling work in SoHo and on West Broadway.  He worked in INK for 11 years and then started painting and selling his designs on T-Shirts in New York City.  He is currently working on paintings for an exhibit and has been honored with invitation to donate his work for charitable events benefiting many causes.
