By: Love-A-Licious A native of Evanston, Ill, Renda received her Bachelor's degree in Dance with a background in Psychology at CSULB. While pursuing her career as an Actor, and Choreographer, she's appeared in several Commercials, Musicals and Theatrical productions, along with Television, and Film. Renda's been featured in movies such as "RENT", "The Believers", Robin In Da Hood", and "Rat Race" as the dance double for Whoppi Goldberg just to name a few.. Her television credits include "Raising Hope", "Weeds", "Eli Stone", "Yes Dear", "Will and Grace", "Watching Ellie", "The Drew Carey Show", and "The Closer" with Tom Seleck along with a slew of others. Her Choreography extend close to three decades nationally and abroad. Through her choreographic credits in Musicals, Award Shows, and Special Tributes, Renda has had the pleasure of working with such greats as Shirley Ceasars, Yolanda Adams, Vickie Winans, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Tremaine Hawkins, Dorien Wilson, Tommy Ford, Patti LaBelle, Michael Jackson, Boys II Men, James Avery, Della Reese, Ben Vereen, as well as the incomparable Ruby Dee, and the list does go on. Renda was the first to be asked to Choreograph Bishop T.D. Jakes’ “Woman Thou Art Loosed” Theatrical Production, Directed by Tyler Perry, but had to turn it down because she was already on tour with the hit Gospel Musical “God’s Trying To Tell You Something” as the Choreographer and Lead Actor. Although grateful for her prior opportunities, Renda's most memorable and rewarding accomplishment was working as a Women's Ministry Counselor, and Activities Director for the Union Rescue Mission on Skid Row, and mentoring disadvantaged youth. Because of her love for working for the less fortunate, Renda founded her own Ministry called "AIM for Christ", which stands for Arts In Ministry. The purpose was to encourage, enlighten, educate and minister to God's people everywhere through the use of the Arts. From the young to the old, amateur to professional, A.I.M.'s vision created an avenue for expressing truth, dignity, morality, and integrity as a life changing process while developing their artist skills. In addition, AIM productions provided quality entertainment taught and lead by celebrity mentors for any and all occasions. Renda is presently the Professor of Dance at Biola University, and last but certainly not least, a proud Mother of two and Grandmother of one. She accredits all her blessings and opportunities to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She believes through Him, all things are possible as she continues to AIM for Christ.
