New R&B artist LB wraps summer on a high note

Aug. 31, 2011 - PRLog -- Old school rhythm and blues is characterized by soulful vocals and substantial lyrics.  The music of R&B freshman LB meets the criteria all the way. Although his music reflects the art form in its purest state, LB’s independent label, Shortfuse Recordz understands that introducing an artist in the marketplace is no easy task. The label decided to seize the summer and take every opportunity to get its flagship artist infront of as many R&B enthusiasts as possible. LB started the summer opening for K-Ci and JoJo, one of the biggest legends in R&B history. “It was an honor to open for them. As a kid they were the main vocalists, I would emulate. In my opinion they were the most important R&B band my generation has seen,” LB says.

After the experience opening for KCi and JoJo, LB attended the Essence Music Festival, performing for one of the biggest urban musical gatherings in the country.  In addition to interacting with fans, LB took the opportunity to observe some of the industry’s top performers doing what they do best.  LB’s jetsetting summer continued with a radio meet-n-greet in Charlotte,NC and later a guest appearance at the Bronner Bros International Hair Show in Atlanta, GA , August 20-23rd.

LB ended his promotional run with a guest performance at an exclusive All-White party in North Carolina. He believes the opportunity to hit the road and interact with true rhythm and blues lovers, offered a much needed perspective on his journey to R&B stardom. With his new single “Take My Time” playing in various markets throughout the southeast including stations in Lake Charles, LA, Charlotte, NC, Columbia, SC and Fayetteville, NC, LB feels he is laying a solid foundation to a fan base that will be able to appreciate his music. “This summer has allowed me to grow as an artist. The response I am getting back from radio and even the live performances I’ve done has been nothing but positive. It feels good to know that there are some fans out there who appreciate good music and are ready to welcome an artist like myself,” LB states.

Shortfuse Recordz plans to follow up LB’s summer promotional tour with additional performances and appearances throughout the southeast. Although radioplay is a main priority, its recognized that getting out and allowing fans to get an opportunity to meet this hot young artist with an old school appeal has proven the key in LB’s success thus far.

“This summer taught me that there is no substitute for hard work and good music,” L.B. reveals. “If I stay focused on the music and just working hard to get it to the people, I think everything will work out.”
