Sept. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Every adult in the United States can recall where they were, and what they were doing the morning of Tuesday September 11, 2001. Though these terrorist attacks were devastating to so many people, they reminded us as a country what it means to be an American, and take many naturalized citizens back to their first step on American soil and why they made that step. With the tenth anniversary of the horrible September 11th tragedies here, artist, immigrant, and New Yorker Zinovy Shersher relives and shares his painful memories and resolve with his song ‘Do You Remember?’, written in commemoration of the anniversary.

As a refugee from the Soviet Union, Russian-American artist and musician Zinovy Shersher is no stranger to terror. Growing up as a Jew in Soviet Russia showed him what the world can be like when faced with differing ideologies and hatred. Shersher immigrated to the United States in 1980 where he was able to make a new start for his family and his passion for art. After moving to US he took a course in New York's School of Visual Arts. After that he was working in a number of Pop groups and bands for many years. Finally free to express his artistic vision fully, Shersher flourished with songs and paintings of newfound brilliance.

His success has continued throughout his over two decades in America, featuring international tours and art shows, and worldwide acclaim. During the past 3 decades in America, Zinovy Shersher wrote and produced 4 song albums in Russian: "STRING", "DREAM", "BROKEN STRING" and “PORTRAIT”. In 2003 he released his first American Christmas record "MERRY CHRISTMAS, I WROTE THIS SONG FOR YOU", a heartwarming mix of 5 original songs and instrumentals and 5 licensed Christmas Carols.
In 2005 Maestro S. Cohen invited him to a joint project “Color The World with Music”. Soon after that Zinovy became a Voting member of the Grammy Academy. Today you can find him writing and producing new songs, scores for various feature and animated films, some for Hollywood's “Films by Jove” co. Shersher is a president of "Ariel Records"  where he is also helping mentor and produce music for new talents.

“I owe all my success, my beautiful family and life to this wonderful country…and was deeply hurt, personally, on 9/11”, stated Zinovy Shersher, “Which is why I wrote this song on the airplane home from New York”, where he was during the attacks. He loves his country & will fight to protect the freedoms he’s come to love and respect for the sake of his children, grandchildren and for all other Americans. He dedicates the song to everyone whose heart pumps red, white and blue and hopes that it may remind each and every one of us what makes this country so great, “All of us.”
