Heywood Hospital Names Tina Santos Vice President for Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer

Gardner, MA –Tina Santos, MBA, MSN, RN has been named as Vice President for Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer at Heywood Hospital in Gardner, MA. A dynamic nursing leader, Santos most recently held the position of Director of Adult and In-patient Services at Lowell General Hospital, where she served on the leadership team which earned that organization Magnet® status.

As Vice President of Patient Care Services, Santos will be responsible for daily operations related to patient care, compliance with regulatory standards and performance improvement, infection control.

As Chief Nursing Officer, Santos will provide leadership for the Division of Nursing, supporting the spirit of nursing while empowering her staff to develop and manage their departments to provide excellence in patient care.

Known as a high energy and results-oriented healthcare professional, Santos’s twenty year career in nursing includes her role as Director of Maternal Child Health at Lowell General Hospital and Practice Manager of Ambulatory Pediatrics at Boston Medical Center.  Santos began her career as an ermergency room nurse.

A resident of Pelham, NH, Santos received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from University of Lowell, and holds the degrees Master of Science in Nursing and Master of Business Administration.  

In addition, she is a member of Massachusetts Organization of Nurse Executives, the Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
