President and founder of Green Wifi speaks at ITU Telecom World 2011

Bruce Baikie will speak and advocate for green solutions for ICT4D in developing countries where there is a poor availability of a localized grid power on two different days during the Main Forum and Technical Symposium in Geneva, Switzerland.
 
Sept. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- SAN FRANCISCO, September 21, 2011-President and founder of Green Wifi, Bruce Baikie, will present on two different occasions at ITU Telecom World 2011.  Baikie’s first discussion, titled Digital Villages: Rethinking “Bridging the Digital Divide”, will cover the challenges governments and operators face in building digital villages which are a key component in building Smart Sustainable Villages.  His second talk is called Green Cloud Computing in Developing Regions: Moving Data and Processing Closer to the End User.  The topic of conversation here will involve telecommunications and networking technologies and how different, local approaches can be taken to remedy the poor availability of grid power in developing nations.
 
The Technical Symposium and Main Forum at ITU Telecom World 2011 focus on knowledge-sharing in the area of communications and technologies.  ICT looks to address broad issues such as interoperability and openness between devices, and services and networks that will turn those challenges into opportunities.  The Technical Symposium invites the ICT community to share information on technological developments that will define and influence the future of networks and services.  Original contributions are welcomed from players across the entire ICT ecosystem and are intended to reflect current technological advances and capabilities within R&D communities as well as forthcoming commercial deployments.
