Haverford Blog Re-Launched with Haverford Township Candidates Campaign Finance Reports

Oct. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- The Haverford Blog has re-opened and now features the campaign finance reports of candidates for Haverford Township Commissioner, District Judge and the local political party committees. Previously, the Haverford Blog was an online bulletin board that was closed in 2010. In its new incarnation, the Haverford Blog is truly a blog site, and community members are encouraged to post comments to the information that is provided.

The Haverford Blog website URL is http://www.HaverfordBlog.com and the site is free to use. Along with the campaign finance reports, there is a topic for Haverford Township politics where news stories about Haverford Township will be posted and visitors can comment on these stories.

Haverford Blog founder and owner Larry Chrzan re-launched the site after spending considerable time and effort to uncover and obtain these campaign finance reports, mostly from the Delaware County Election Bureau. “It became apparent to me when I ran for 7th Ward Commissioner in 2007 that many Republican candidates and the Haverford Township Republican Party Committee were getting significant contributions from people who do business with the Township,” Chrzan comments. “I want the voters to know about these contributions so that they can decide for themselves about the candidates who accept such contributions.”

Chrzan has obtained and paid for the paper copies of the Republican candidates and committee reports and scanned them to PDF. These are available to view or download. The Haverford Democrats reports are available online. Chrzan posts his own campaign finance reports and invites any Democratic candidate to provide their reports for posting on the site. Chrzan said, “It is an archaic process to file these reports in paper format in this age of digital information. This makes it makes it hard for the average citizen to know what’s going on with the candidates they are voting for to run their Township. The Haverford Blog makes this information more easily available.”
