Oct. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- After just over 3 months and 14 official episodes Get Mommy a Drink is making national waves again by getting nominated for the 2011Podcast Awards. Stephanie Frantz and Sarah LeClaire Heisler, the ‘mommies’, are talking about what they’ve titled “life after delivery” with a blunt honesty that is rarely offered by parenting media. They share their longing for intelligent conversation, explore the many ways their lives have shifted, and openly discuss relationship and body issues, all with as little whining as possible. This podcast is quickly becoming the center of a community for parents new and old, along with those who are curious about kids and those who have never wanted to be a parent (the latter often thanking the hosts for reinforcing their decision.)

The idea behind the podcast is a simple one, an outlet that engages the listener as little or as much as they’d like to participate while distracting them from the  mundane or downright stressful areas of their own lives. This is a strategy followed by all four of the podcasts currently represented by the Boneyard network, founded by Stephanie and her husband Bob after his 10 year radio career came to an end this past April. The couple has partnered with two of Bob’s previous co-hosts Alfredo Torres and Manny Montemayor to produce Get Mommy a Drink, Bob’s Boneyard - three guys discussing their nonsensical lives with passion and zeal.  Dork Trek -  reviewing Star Trek:TNG with much lighthearted love, and Torres vs Zombies - an exploration of the zombie subculture full of helpful survival tips.

All four of the podcasts spent time in the New & Noteworthy category on iTunes and they are all quickly growing their following. The ladies of Get Mommy a Drink, however, are kicking more than a little butt having been ranked as high as #8 in iTunes comedy podcasts and now with this humbling nomination. These two have definitely found their niche in a under-acknowledged market.  You can check out the podcast at getmommyadrink.com. Podcast Awards voting is daily from Oct 12th-27th at podcastawards.com.
