Ballet Coach from Black Swan Now Teaching at North County Dance Studios

Oct. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- North County San Diego is becoming a hub for dance, drawing renowned professionals from all over, including the ballet coach who helped transform Mila Kunis into a classical ballet dancer for “Black Swan.” Alexandra Blacker, has returned from dancing in New York City to teach dance at two  studios in North County; San Elijo Dance & Music Academy (SEDMA) in San Marcos, and 4S Dance Academy (4S Dance) in 4S Ranch.  

In addition to teaching students of all levels in Ballet, Ms Blacker is part of the pre-professional conservatory ballet program and contemporary dance staff at SEDMA. Ms. Blacker states, “I am thrilled to join the impressive faculty at SEDMA and 4S! I enjoy teaching young students the fundamentals of ballet, and for the more advanced dancer in the conservatory program, it is my goal to make everything they do look effortless, which is of course the hardest thing for any ballet dancer to do."

About Alexandra Blacker:
Alexandra Blacker began her training in St. Petersburg, Florida at Judith Lee Johnson’s Studio of Dance. At 16 she attended the School of American Ballet. After graduation she joined Los Angeles Ballet where she danced in works by George Balanchine and numerous contemporary choreographers. She was also the ballet coach of actress Mila Kunis in the movie Black Swan. In 2010 she relocated to New York City to finish a degree in International Studies and non-profit work. She then joined New Chamber Ballet, where her roles included parts in  Five Songs for Piano, 104 Fahrenheit, Sculpture Garden, Sketches of a Woman Remembering, and Virtuosa.  She left New Chamber Ballet in 2011 to return to California where she joyfully coaches ballet to all levels of students at both SEDMA and 4S Dance Academy.
