Illinois Company Fined for Respiratory Hazards

Oct. 31, 2011 - PRLog -- Earlier this month, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) fined an Illinois company for exposing workers to respiratory and other hazards.  The company, based in Mokena, is subject to proposed fines of over $122,000.

One willful health and nine serious safety violations were reported by OSHA.  "Failing to identify hazards, provide appropriate personal protective equipment and monitor workers puts them at an unacceptable risk for injury or illness," said Gary Anderson, OSHA's area director in Calumet City. "Employers have a responsibility to ensure that work environments are healthful and safe."
