OXYGEN SPA STUDIO IN CHICAGO CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING THIS WEEK
introducing the new boutique spa
Guests are invited to enjoy free chair massages and light refreshments at the Oxygen Spa Studio Grand Opening 10 a.m.- 6 pm this Wednesday and Thursday.
The celebration includes the "unveiling" of the spa's beautiful interior and elegant private massage rooms. Also, one-hour Swedish Massages are available at a special Grand Opening price of $40, more than half off the regular $85 price.
About Oxygen Spa Studio
Oxygen is a boutique spa with three single-table and one double-table private massage rooms. It is a health spa that features massage therapy and focuses on comfortable, personalized attention.
The spa is named "Oxygen" to portray a sense of freshness, rejuvenation, renewal to help the body breathe, says James Stauber, artisan and one of the four spa owners.
The atmosphere
"We created a relaxing atmosphere that begins as soon as the clients enter the spa," says Maria Padilla, massage therapist, and one of the spa owners. People enter directly to the reception area, that has plush cream sofas and chairs, and plush green flora including a young lemon tree.  "The tree is young," Ms. Padilla says. "We expect that over the winter it will have white flower blooms."
The reception area includes a beautiful wood table, a softly flowing water fountain coming out of the wall, and bamboo flooring and ceiling that continue throughout the spa hallway and rooms. The walls are white to accentuate the plush greens and dark wood.
Clients are welcome to have a cup of tea or a glass of water while they wait for their treatment.
The attention
Oxygen features massage therapy including Swedish Massage, Sports Massage, Foot Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, and Craniosacral Massage that focuses on the head neck and shoulders.
"We take care for an individual approach with the clients," says Ms. Padilla."We talk with them about their health, teach them how to take care of themselves, how to improve their health." For example, if someone works at the computer all day, the therapist will teach them stretching and breathing exercises to help prevent aches or injuries.
After their massage, clients have up to 30 minutes to talk with the therapist about their health and situation, and to ask questions.
