CGG News : How to fix PS3 Got Bricked - E3 Flasher Error ?

Nov. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- As the E3 flasher released, more and more  users may meet some error when install the E3 flasher. The big problem is getting a brick to PS3 console.

Again, we have contacted with the E3 team about the error problem, the E3 team replied that many error was caused by the incorrect installation. It is highly suggested to read the installation manual instruction and the update news before you start to install the E3 flasher to your PS3.

If you got a brick to your PS3 console, here is a solution for your try,

Restore the backup bios to your PS3 if ps3 bricked on 3.73fw, you need restore the 3.73 bios

If ps3 bricked on 3.55fw, you need restore the 3.55 bios

1: Solder 1 wire as following picture showed, connect SBE point on E3 soft-board to PA0 point which on PS3 main-board. No need remove this wire in future.

2: Copy the correct bios into TF card, and install on E3 flasher. (please note file name should be correct, assure name is same when you backup)

3: Unplug ps3 power cable to turn off ps3, set E3 switches as following showed.

4: Turn on PS3 and press START on e3, then the 8 LED will light one by one, the LED will blink if restore successfully.

5: Unplug ps3 power cable to turn off PS3, set Flash Fun down to PS3 MODE, and then turn on ps3, the system should be the correct fw before console bricked.

PS: To switch FLASH FUN and PS3 MODE, you must set E3 when PS3 unplug power cable status, and then turn on ps3, otherwise will fail.
