Nov. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- In a new book, Dr. David Alan Black calls on the church to start “insourcing” missions rather than depending on paid professionals. Will You Join the Cause of Global Missions? is to be released January 25, 2012 by Energion Publications.

Dr. Black states in this new book that the church has become much too dependent on professional ministers and calls on the church to start “insourcing” missions rather than depending on paid professionals. The work of the gospel will not be completed by paid professionals, but by every church member accepting the call of the Great Commission and becoming missionaries wherever and whenever God calls them to do so.

In the foreword, Dr. Alvin Reid, who holds the Bailey Smith Chair of Evangelism at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, says that “Dave lives as a missionary because he is convinced that every follower of Christ above all else, regardless of vocation or location, has the high honor of serving Christ as a missionary. In these pages you will glean from his wisdom and feel his heart. We live in a time where the Western church is seeing a much needed, growing revolution shifting from professional preachers to living witnesses who live the mission. We need less superstars and more servants, and this book explains why.”

“This is a dangerous book,” says Henry Neufeld, publisher of Energion Publications. “I don't think you can put it down as the same person you were when you picked it up. Read it at your own risk! It might make you the disciple that He envisioned you to be.”

Will You Join the Cause of Global Missions? (http://energionpubs.com/books/1893729184) will be available directly from Energion Direct (http://energiondirect.com) with substantial quantity discounts, and from other major online retailers.
