The Importance of Visual Assessments during Indoor Environmental Projects

Nov. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- In the November issue of Indoor Environment Connections, an article about the importance of visual inspections during indoor environmental projects has caught the eye of many in the industry.  “What Glasses Do You Wear?” details the experiences of renowned building sciences expert Ed Chambers, President of EC2, Inc.  EC2, based in the Chicago area, provides indoor air quality (IAQ) and environmental services to residential and commercial clients across the Midwest.

According to the article, “It is our expertise and special way of looking at a problem.  As in many careers and jobs, we must wear several hats in the performance of our duties.  Environmentalists also wear many hats and may also wear many glasses.  The question becomes ‘what glasses do you wear?’  This is not such an easy question to answer.”

The article discusses this issue from a number of angles and concludes with Mr. Chambers’ writing, “Bring perspective to the table when you sit with any client, whether it is a private citizen, contractor, insurance company, attorney, or another environmentalist.  Remember who you are and who you were.  Remember your vision and the glasses you wear.”

Mr. Chambers was asked to write the article due to his decades of experience in the industry. Since opening his business, EC2 has performed over 5,000 building investigations involving IAQ and an extensive array of environmental issues.  “It was a pleasure to share my experiences and points of view regarding the need for a successful environmentalist to be able to analyze a client’s problem from various perspectives.  I hope others find the article eye opening and that it provides some new insights and tips to others in the industry,” reported Mr. Chambers.
