Popplet Asks School Users To Share Ideas On Subscription Model

Notion Inc – makers of the ideas platform and visual thinking app Popplet – have today called for web and iPad users working in the education sector to share ideas and insights, ahead of future enhancements to the digital idea sharing tool.

Jan. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- Creators of the Web and iPad visual thinking app Popplet, have today called for comments and feedback from the education sector.  Popplet users are encouraged to complete a short survey about how the app is used in the classroom to facilitate learning and student collaboration. The survey also asks users to explain barriers to using Popplet, and surveys the potential implications of a subscription-based system.

All survey respondents will have an additional 25 popplets added to their account.

The survey is available online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/987HSJY

http://Popplet.com users in education can also access the survey by emailing support@popplet.com or via the Popplet blog, Poppletrocks! (http://blog.popplet.com)

“In recent months, we have been managing strong growth in the number of users of both our web and iPad app versions of Popplet. Around the world, Popplet is being used to collect and curate ideas, map concepts and plans, work collaboratively across teams, and as an aide to visual thinking,” said Notion co-founder, Jared Schiffman.

In order to continue strengthening the data storage capacity and extend the range of features available, the makers of Popplet are looking to introduce a modest subscription model in the near future. “We plan to continue enhancing our visual thinking tool with new features and further strengthening our data stability and storage capabilities, but need to balance this with a sustainable business model.”

“One of our largest group of users are in the education sector and we are proud to see Popplet being integrated into classroom activities and as an aide to learning,” said Jared. “We want to ensure that the introduction of any subscription model does not act as a barrier to Popplet’s continued use in the classroom.”

Popplet has been used with students of all ages to encourage collaboration on team projects, to map concepts and visually show the connection between information and ideas, and as a memory aide. Teachers use Popplet in lesson planning and encourage students to use Popplet for independent study and note-taking. Some teachers have incorporated using Popplet into assignment tasks.

Jared concluded: “Thanks to all the teachers, educators and bloggers in education technology who have been sharing how they use Popplet with their colleagues at conferences and in online forums. We hope you can now share some insights with us so we can keep enhancing the value of Popplet to the education sector.”

Education users are encouraged to complete the survey by 31 January, 2012. All survey responses will remain anonymous, and all respondents will receive 25 additional popplet boards for their account use.
