| Nitrogen Dioxide’s Impact on IAQ Exposed in New Online VideoThe IAQ Video Network produces another educational video about environmental dangers due to exposure to indoor air quality contaminants.
The two most prevalent oxides of nitrogen are nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and nitric oxide (NO). Both are toxic gases with nitrogen dioxide being a highly reactive oxidant and corrosive. The primary sources indoors are combustion processes, such as unvented combustion appliances (gas stoves), vented appliances with defective installations, welding and tobacco smoke. Average levels in homes without combustion appliances is about half that of outdoors. In homes with gas stoves, kerosene heaters, or un-vented gas space heaters, indoor levels often exceed outdoor levels. “Health effects associated with exposure to nitrogen dioxide include eye, nose and throat irritation,” To view this video please visit http://www.IAQTV.com or http://www.youtube.com/ To learn more please visit http://www.cochraneassoc.com, email info@cochraneassoc.com or call (602)510-3179. # # # About Cochrane & Associates, LLC & the IAQ Video Network Cochrane & Associates is a business development, public relations and marketing consulting firm that specializes in the environmental, HVAC, mold and indoor air quality industries.
