Northern Motors Vauxhall Line-Up Gets Better And Better

Feb. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- During 2012, Vauxhall will be announcing numerous new models and model updates to further extend its already class-leading vehicle range; the new Mokka SUV to rival the Nissan Juke and Suzuki's SX4; the latest in the new Astra line-up – Vauxhall’s hottest hatch yet - the Astra VXR; the revolutionary new Vauxhall Ampera extended-range electric vehicle; and, last but not least, the state-of-the-art new Vauxhall Combo.  

The Vauxhall Mokka and eagerly awaited new Astra VXR will be unveiled at The International Geneva Motor Show 2012 (Salon International de l'Auto) which takes place from 8 – 18 March 2012.  View the Astra VXR at one of Northern Motors’ three showrooms in Watford, Harrow and Ruislip during Spring 2012 and the Mokka later this year.

The new Vauxhall Mokka will be regarded as a sub-compact SUV and launched towards the end of 2012.  This bold new design statement from Vauxhall will offer outstanding driving comfort and be available with three engines all equipped with fuel saving Start/Stop technology.  The petrol options consist of a 115PS, 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated engine or a 140PS 1.4-litre turbo with 200Nm of torque.  The diesel engine is a 130PS 1.7 CDTI turbo with 300Nm of torque.  Both the 1.4 turbo and the 1.7 CDTi will be available with either six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmissions.  This new SUV will be more than capable dealing with more rugged terrain, with its all-wheel drive system ensuring a high level of stability and safety

Vauxhall say that the new Astra VXR “is set to become one of the most powerful cars in its class and the fastest Astra in Vauxhall’s history”.  The Astra VXR is loosely based upon the Astra GTC, another recent addition to the Vauxhall line-up, with bespoke chassis modifications to transform it into a high performance coupe.   It is powered by a 2.0 litre turbo engine, produces 280PS of power and a mighty 400Nm of torque, enough for a top speed of 155mph.  The new Astra VXR features not only a Sport button, but a VXR button, giving the driver a choice of two, more focused stages of damper, throttle and steering control, combined with Brembo brakes.

If you’re looking to save on fuel and cut emissions whilst enjoying performance driving, then the new Vauxhall Ampera is the car for you!  Bringing with it cleaner motoring and offering range of up to 360 miles from its lively electric performance.

The New Vauxhall Combo will be available in two wheelbases, two heights, two vehicle weights, two trim levels and five engine choices.  This neat little van delivers a list of commercial firsts; the new Combo will be able to haul up to a tonne; it’ll have one of the longest and most spacious load areas in its class; plus the highest rear-axle weight and the largest rear door opening for safe and easy loading.
