Follow on Google News | Great Design On The iPhone 4S And The Panasonic ElugaThe iPhone 4S and the Panasonic Eluga are two of the leading devices currently available. Both models feature great camera features but the Apple device ultimately offers a little more quality in this department.
By: Emma Rosher Panasonic are a company who are famous for their superb Lumix range of digital still cameras so we expected the Eluga to be particularly impressive in this department and we were not disappointed. The phone includes a powerful primary camera facility capable of capturing a photograph at a resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels which equates to 8 mega pixels. An LED flash is present on the phone to help improve the quality of pictures captured in poor light and an excellent Touch Focus feature enables the user to select the item within their frame that they want the camera to focus on. The Eluga also impresses when it comes to video capture and can record video footage in HD quality at a resolution 1080P. Despite the expertise of Panasonic in this department the phone still struggles to match the iPhone 4S for camera features. The iPhone boasts the same camera resolution of 8 mega pixels but the high quality sensor used by the Apple device helps to provide to images with a depth not present on many other devices. The iPhone also benefits from the excellent HDR capture mode which takes a picture at three different exposure levels and then creates a final image based on the most effective of these images. The phone matches the Panasonic for video capture by recording 1080P video resolution. These models are arguably two of the most attractive handsets currently available. The iPhone 4S is unusual in that it is the only phone that incorporates a glass panel on the back of the phone in addition to the front. Between these two sheets of glass an Aluminium strips runs around all four sides of the device. The phone is quite slim at just 9.3mm depth and the overall weight of 140 grammes is not the lightest but does help the phone feel very well made when you handle it. The design of the Panasonic Eluga is one of the features that really does grab your attention with this phone. The model measures just 7.8mm in depth and weighs only 103 grammes which is remarkable for a device boasting a 4.3 inch screen. The model sports a very angular design which works well with the wafer thin depth and the screen dominates proceedings by occupying 66 per cent of the total body, a higher percentage than any other phone currently available. The iPhone 4S and the Panasonic Eluga are two of the leading devices currently available. Both models feature great camera features but the Apple device ultimately offers a little more quality in this department. In terms of design both devices boast striking looks but the new Eluga is our current favourite thanks to a slim and modern chassis together with a minimal overall weight.
