Buyechina.Com Said Google Android Market Will Be Renamed Google Play Store

March 6, 2012 - PRLog -- According to Kokin James, PR manager for the China wholesale company Buyechina (http://www.buyechina.com), Google announced Android Market will renamed Google Play Store on a Tuesday.

The Google Android system online mall which is responsible for sales applications, video, music and ebook-Android Market, with a new name from Tuesday-Google Play Store. Google said to rename Google Play Store is in order to let consumers understand the marketing of the products is not only Android applications, which also includes the other content.

"Some people see the Android icon on their homescreen and they think it’s just for apps," said Chris Yerga, engineering director for Android Digital Content, in an interview with Reuters on Monday.

The name is being introduced three and a half years after Google launched its Android Market as a central outlet for consumers to download the mobile apps created for the growing number of Android-based smartphones.

Android is the world’s No.1 smartphone operating system, used in smartphones sold by Motorola, Samsung and HTC, among others.

Google, which became one of technology’s great success stories as a search engine, is trying to branch out the way major competitors have. Ninety-six percent of its revenue, it concedes, comes from online advertising (such as the items that appear in colored boxes when you do a search). Apple, by comparison, sells both hardware (iPads, iPhones, computers) and content to play on them through its iTunes store. Amazon started as an online bookstore  but now sells Kindle e-readers and Kindle Fire tablets so users can play what they download from Amazon.com.

"You can have the best game in the world, but if people can't find it you're dead in the water," said Kokin James, PR Manager for electronic gadgets supplier BuyeChina ( http://www.buyechina.com ). "If people can find the great content, then it benefits the game companies like us."
