March 10, 2012 - PRLog -- A Western Pennsylvania native who was born in Washington and now lives in the Pittsburgh area is spreading the word on fifty being "the new thirty" via her latest book.

Lori Carrington, who writes as L. Anne Carrington, published her second novel in February called “Fifty,” which has become a conversation piece among baby boomer readers and has so far received five-star reviews on Amazon.

One reviewer who read the book noted, “Fifty' is funny as well as informative, and [character Randi Gage] shows little shame in each chapter."

“As someone who celebrated her big five-O nearly three years ago this caught my eye immediately as a must-read for today's fifty-something woman. Randella Anne Gage, Randi for short, is approaching fifty and what better way to mark the occasion than to write and record it for posterity. Written in an approachable, humorous and autobiographical style, Randi tells it like it is: which bits are creaking, which bits aren't quite working as they once did. After all, you have to have some battle scars for reaching this grand age, though she offers practical tips to help with these. A bit of hearing loss and osteoarthritis isn't going to deter Randi. Full of funny quotes and the wisdom of five decades, Randi delivers a positive coming-to-terms with things like weight, being single, doing your own thing, relationships, mastering social media, and of course, writing and getting published. This is the wonder of being in your fifties in this day and age, there is no one-size-fits-all, just diversity, and this is a core message in Randi's take on life: being yourself and feeling free to let rip regardless of what people think. And don't miss Randi's `Fifty Points of Living'. All in all, this book is a celebration of being fifty, appealing to us Baby Boomers and those coming in our wake!,” another wrote.

"Fifty" is currently available for Kindle on both Amazon for $2.99 and Amazon.uk for £1.95. A paperback version will be released by London-based Night Publishing later this year.
