Golf Charity Tournament for the Royal Children's Hospital's Children’s Bioethics Centre

MELBOURNE - The American Women’s Auxiliary (AWA) is proud to host its annual Charity Golf Tournament to be held Friday, 23 March, 2012 at the Victoria Golf Club.  The event aims to raise $60,000 to benefit the Royal Children’s Hospital’s (RCH) Children’s Bioethics Centre.  

For the past 17 years, the AWA has held this prestigious event at renowned golf courses around Melbourne.  This year’s tournament will be no exception as the AWA invites 240 golfers to play at the exclusive Victoria Golf Club, home of The Australian Masters.  The event also includes cocktail hour, silent and live auctions, and a seated dinner.  

“We are excited about our continued efforts in our 81st year of raising funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital,” says AWA President, Ann Marie Johnston.  “Playing off the success of the recent Masters and the launch of the new hospital, we wanted to make the 17th year of our golf tournament bigger and better which is why we are doubling the size thus doubling the proceeds.”

All proceeds of the event go directly to the Royal Children's Hospital Children’s Bioethics Centre.  The Children’sBioethics Centre supports children and their families by promoting and ensuring their rights in health care.  They serve as an advocate for patients, educate health care professionals on ethical issues, support ethical best practice in children’s health care, conduct research, and lead the development of paediatric ethics in health care worldwide.  The AWA is proud to support the RCH and the Children’s Bioethics Centre.
