By: Florida Hospital Flagler The choir, directed by Amy Fulmer, sang a mix of contemporary and spiritual songs, including “Danny Boy,” “Stand By Me” and “Rock Around The Clock.” “The students are very talented and the music was enjoyed by all,” said Florida Hospital Flagler Chaplain Robert Nickell. “The hospital volunteers seemed to especially enjoy these song choices, from the 1950s and 1960s.” The students’ performance is part of the hospital’s monthly goal of connecting and fostering a meaningful relationship with the community and local schools. “The hospital is very much a part of the community,” said Chaplain Nickell. “We want our local residents to develop a relationship with the hospital before they – or their family members – need us.” The students seemed to enjoy the experience as well, as several asked if they could return during their free time this summer and play the cello and piano for patients and visitors. # # # Florida Hospital Volusia/Flagler is a nonprofit with a mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.
