“Our objective is to combine our thirty plus years of state of the art comprehensive functional and parametric (DC/AC) electronics testing with Aeroflex RAD’s comprehensive radiation test services for customers and programs worldwide.  Together NJ MET (http://www.njmetmtl.com) and Aeroflex RAD offer test methods compliant to MIL-STD-883 or ESCC basic specification no: 22900. Their ELDRS cell can run any dose rate from 1 to 100 mrad (si)/s to match the mission requirements” said Joseph Federico (http://JosephFedericoNJ.biz) of NJ MET laboratories headquartered in Clifton, New Jersey.

Aeroflex RAD is DSCC certified for radiation testing to both MIL-STD-750 and MIL-STD-883 and own and operate a full suite of radiation and electrical test equipment. Aeroflex RAD operates as an independent division to maintain the integrity for customers that may have company sensitive products and information. .

By NJ MET joining with Aeroflex RAD, we now combine the advantage of two corporate infrastructures to further assist customers in meeting the demanding and increasing requirements of HiRel, Military and Space Flight programs.

The key benefits associated with this affiliation are NJ MET’s comprehensive functional and parametric testing to evaluate the electronic components prior to Aeroflex RAD’s Radiation Effects list services which include:

•   Total Ionizing Dose (TID) RLAT (50 to 300 rads/sec)
      – MIL-STD-883 TM 1019, Cond. A

•   TID ELDRS (10 to 100 mrads/sec)
     – MIL-STD-883 TM 1019, Cond. D, ESA/SCC22900

•   Prompt dose
     – MIL-STD-883 TM 1020 and 1021

•   Neutron SEE

•   Heavy ion SEE (SEL, SEU, and SET)
     - EIA/JESD 57, ASTM F1192

•   Proton: Heavy Ion SEE

•   Cryogenic FPA testing (25 K)

Finally NJ MET will re-evaluate the components post radiation process by exercising full functional and parametric (DC/AC) electronic testing in accordance with the Manufacturer, Military, Aerospace or Space protocols in conjunction with a total quality review process to qualify the component lot for RAD hard disposition.

Please be advised that NJMET is DLA Mil Std 883 Laboratory Suitability for the following test processes:
* Stabilization Bake, Method 1008/A-H
* Constant Acceleration, Method 2001/A-E
* Bond Strength, Method 2011/C,D
* Resistance to Solvents, Method 2015/NA
* Physical Dimensions, Method 2016/NA
* Die Shear, Method 2019/NA
