May 9, 2012 - PRLog -- Orangeville, ON, May 9, 2012 – Today marks the launch of a Virtual Book Tour for Women, Motorcycles and the Road to Empowerment by author Liz Jansen. Using symbolism from the world of motorcycling, the book explores the theme of self-discovery, adventure and personal growth, illustrated through the experiences of a diverse, stellar cast of women riders. The tour, which goes until June 21st, will stop at selected online sites in three countries, each one delving into different notions explored in the book. Readers can participate from anywhere in the world.

“The tour connects like-minded audiences who may not be aware of each other and grows a community,” says author Liz Jansen. “Participants have an opportunity to interact with the host, meet new people, hear new perspectives, receive new information and have some fun!” “Social travel,” continues Jansen, “is a meaningful way to engage a larger audience than is possible through any other means.”
Each hosts brings a unique area of expertise and perspective to the message of the book – that the lessons on our life’s journey can awaken us to our strengths, a greater self-awareness and incredible enrichment and fulfillment. Most, but not all, ride motorcycles.

The first stop on the tour is the vibrant blog of San Francisco-based motorcycle adventure travel writer and author Carla King. Other stops include Amazing Women Rock, a Forbes Top 100 Site For Women founded by visionary Susan Macaulay,  The Best Chapter, home to Diana Bletter, author of the forthcoming book The Mom Who Took Off on Her Motorcycle, now living in Israel, the  Commuting Motorcyclist Bud Miller from Pennsylvania, and Motorcycle Mojo Magazine’s Gwen Roberts in Ontario Canada. From his high desert studio in Nevada, marketing specialist J. Brandon will host a Twitter chat; broadcasting from Florida, SideStandUp Online Radio Host Tom Lowdermilk and co-host Chicago-based entrepreneur Denise Maple will interview Jansen: Retired Master Sergeant Eldonna Lewis-Fernandez from Southern California will feature a story in Go Pink Magazine, followed by a FaceBook discussion, Lisa Haneberg, Organizational Development Practitioner and author from Cinncinati will host a guest blog; Personal coach Julia Widdop will broadcast an interview on Seeker’s Journey, her online television program.

“The Road to Empowerment may take you around the block or around the world,” reflects Jansen. “It always brings us back to who we are.” Around the world has never been so close.
