Environmental Concerns after a Fire Exposed in latest IEC Issue

May 21, 2012 - PRLog -- In the May issue of Indoor Environment Connections, an article about environmental concerns and safety issues has caught the eyes of indoor air quality (IAQ) and fire restoration professionals.  “Fire Money: Restoration’s Shining Moment” details the challenges and opportunities that exist to safely help people after a devastating fire.

The article shares the experiences of renowned building sciences expert Ed Chambers, President of EC2, Inc.  EC2, based in the Chicago area, provides indoor air quality, environmental, and health and safety services to residential and commercial clients across the Midwest.  The article discusses common fire restoration safety issues and states, “Other main concerns for any size loss will be one of safety, security, custody and control.  You are responsible for the safety of not only your personnel, but also anyone who may have access to your site.  This not only applies to a civilian, but also to any trades workers who may need access to assess plumbing, electrical, mechanicals, etc.”

Mr. Chambers was asked to write the article due to his extensive experience in the building sciences and health and safety industries. Since opening his business, EC2 has performed thousands of building investigations involving IAQ, fire damage and an array of other environmental issues.  “It was a pleasure to share my experiences when dealing with the aftermath of a building fire.  Building science consultants and fire restoration professionals see fires in a different light than the average person and I hope this article shares that perspective,” reported Mr. Chambers.
