Customers Inspire Optician to Create Reading Glasses Supporting Alzheimer’s Research

Like many of her customers, she was caught between caring for her elderly parents and her family. Her parents, who are also Holocaust survivors, displayed typical Alzheimer’s symptoms of anger and paranoia, but were not associated with the disease until it was in its later stages. As a devoted daughter, her caregiver stress became more noticeable to her longtime customers, some of which were caregivers also. They shared their stories and the way in which they live their lives in spite of these challenges. This inspired her to create Renee’s Readers.
