“Food Forum USA” & “Fit for FDA” to be held at the Hanover Chamber of Industry and Commerce

June 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Hosted by the Hanover Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the “Food Forum USA” will be held in Hanover, Germany on June 14. The conference’s purpose is to introduce German companies to opportunities within the US market and will cover topics such as sales and distribution channels, product marketing, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) operations, guidelines and strategies to manage risk. Following presentations by industry experts, all attendees will have the possibility to address specific questions and problems in individual appointments.

Gert Lindemann, Lower Saxony’s Minister of Food, Agriculture, Consumer Protection and State Development and Dr. Horst Schrage, Hanover Chamber of Industry and Commerce, will open the conference. Experts at the conference will include Martina Stegmeier of the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern US, Inc., Tim Forrest of Tim Forrest Consulting; Donald Prater of the Food and Drug Administration European Office; Stefan M. Tiessen of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP; Miriam Hempel of NürnbergMesse GmbH and Sebastian Buggert of rheingold GmbH & Co. KG.

Without the consent of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the FDA, neither domestic nor imported foods can be marketed in the U.S. In order to expand on requirements set forth by these agencies, Tim Forrest, American food expert and FDA agent, will conduct the “Fit for FDA” seminar on June 15. During individual consultations with participants, Mr. Forrest will review products and provide tailored advice on adhering to all regulations.
