June 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Macomb, MI – Orthopedic surgeon Jian Zhong Zhang, M.D., Prof., Director of Foot and Ankle Services, Chief of the Department of Orthopaedics at Beijing Tongren Hospital and Capital Medical University, and the leading foot and ankle specialist in all of China, recently visited the United States and took the opportunity to collaborate with surgeons who also perform the extra-osseous talotarsal stabilization (EOTTS) procedure, a method to correct partial talotarsal dislocation.

The HyProCure® EOTTS device instantly stabilizes the hindfoot bones, stopping the continued trauma to the foot and body caused by talotarsal displacement, and even possibly leading to the reversal of associated effects. HyProCure® represents a real solution for patients suffering from this condition.

On his recent trip, Zhang made his way to Temple Hills, MD to work with Dr. Burton J. Katzen, podiatric surgeon and Master HyProCure® specialist.  “It was an honor to be able to work with Dr. Zhang and know that he will be sharing what he has learned with leading surgeons in China,” said Dr. Katzen.

Foot and ankle surgery is an emerging orthopedic specialty in China with a rapidly growing awareness and interest. Dr. Zhang has worked hard to build greater awareness for the importance of treating foot and ankle pathologies and has the first dedicated foot and ankle clinic in China. When he travels to the U.S., he takes the opportunity to work with recognized American surgeons and discuss best practices in the field of foot and ankle surgery . He now teaches more than 50 surgeons a year on the specifics of the foot and ankle and has grown the network there.

Working with physicians and local distributors on nearly every continent, GraMedica® strives to educate foot and ankle professionals on the importance of stabilizing the talotarsal mechanism. Reaching more doctors in more countries enables HyProCure® to become a real treatment option available to countless patients seeking a solution for their painful symptoms. GraMedica® works cooperatively with the Graham International Implant Institute (GIII), which has the mission of elevating the standard of care in the arena of Extra-Osseous TaloTarsal Stabilization through surgeon education.
