June 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Medford, Oregon -  Another new fly product for horses? Yes – but this one is different. For starters, Fly Armor is made with all natural ingredients, not chemicals. And it’s a band with fly repellent soaked inserts you place or attach to your horse – no wipes or sprays. And the million dollar question – does it work?

A trainer of thoroughbred race horses was motivated by his thin-skinned thoroughbreds who get agitated with flies, gnats, and mosquitoes to invent a fly product that was effective and kept them calm. He developed Fly Armor, an all natural, non-toxic fly repellent made primarily with a blend of citronella and cedar wood essential oils. Porous inserts are saturated with these essential oil blends that are placed into washable, durable bands. These bands can be attached to the bridle or halter’s noseband, cheek pieces, browband, and crown piece with Velcro to secure them. It’s perfect for trail rides, competitions or when trailering. There is even a band that adheres to your helmet!

The Fly Armor mane and tail bands are particularly popular because you can tie them onto the mane and tail of your horse while turned out and no halter is needed. This makes it very practical if your horse is out in pasture with other horses or in a stall or paddock by himself. It can last up to approximately four weeks if left on 24/7, or you can prolong the repellent inserts’ life by storing them in a plastic bag until you go out on a trail ride. You can then reorder just the replacement inserts that has the repellent.

Fly Armor has received great reviews so far from race horse trainers and other equine professionals. Summer flies are just about  here – get armed and ready with Fly Armor and extra replacement inserts to get you through the summer.
