Love and Hip-Hop ATL's Karlie Redd Launches REDD Remy Hair Line with Promotional Weekend DC July 6-8

July 1, 2012 - PRLog -- (Washington, DC) – Recording Artist Karlie Redd, cast member of VH1’s Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta just announced Washington, DC as the second stop on the promotional tour for her luxurious hair line, REDD Remy Hair. Following the Redd Remy/Karlie Redd Summer Soiree to benefit Pancreatic Cancer, during the BET Awards Weekend June 29th, the YMCMB (Young Money Cash Money Billionaires) Songstress will host a series of celebrity and community events in DC, Maryland and Virginia, July 6-8. Karlie Redd is a co-star on the new season of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta on VH1, which premiered to a viewing audience of 3.6 million.  Due to the viewer audience of Love and Hip-Hop, on Monday, June 18th, VH1 was the number one cable network in the demo of women 18-49*. Karlie Redd was introduced about 27 minutes into the show and before the show was over her Twitter audience (@KARLIEREDD) increased from 11,000 to 24,000 followers.  

The purpose of the REDD Remy Weekend in DC is to introduce Redd Remy Hair to the marketplace and allow Karlie Redd an opportunity to engage with fans, hair stylists, media, and supporting a cause close to her heart, pancreatic cancer research. Pancreatic Cancer is a deadly disease that typically has a three to six month survival rate. Redd’s Director of Operation for REDD Remy hair, Leslie Wells’ mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2005 and through medical advancements, a positive attitude, faith, prayer, exercise and a healthy diet, lived beyond the time given by the doctors, but recently passed in February. This unfortunate moment inspired Karlie Redd to leverage her business interests in support of research and advancement of pancreatic cancer.

About Karlie Redd

KARLIE REDD, recording artist, cover model, dancer, film director and actress.  Karlie Redd made her television debut on the reality hit franchise Love & Hip Hop.

Born in New York and raised with her West Indian family in Trinidad, Karlie entered the entertainment arena at an early age. Starting off acting and modeling, by the age of 16 Karlie had over 40 commercials, movies, and modeling appearances to her credit.
Moving back stateside at the age of 12, Karlie continued to hone her skills studying voice, music and dance at the Harlem School of the Arts.
