Small Town Film Critic Gaining Recognition

July 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Chicago, IL  - From small town Bourbonnais, Illinois, this female film and stage critic is giving a much needed perspective to the entertainment industry.  In a very male dominated field, it’s refreshing to hear a viewpoint from a female with a formal media education and is a full-time mother of teenagers who enjoys an occasional glass of red wine.  Time is one of our most precious commodities and Pam wants to make sure we spend it wisely.  Her reviews are less about movie "theory" and more about information and perspective that helps the reader and listener make a decision.  Pam also welcomes and encourages other’s opinions as she realizes that not everyone’s take on a film or production is going to be the same as hers.  Open discussion with her listeners and readers sets her apart from other critics.

About Pam:  Pamela Powell, transplanted New Yorker now living in a small town south of Chicago, is a former Valparaiso and Northwestern University graduate.  Pam has gained recognition in the entertainment reviewer’s world both on the air and on-line.  Previously a part-time instructor in radio broadcasting at Columbia College and full-time Speech-Language Pathologist, Pam has found herself now utilizing her skills in the media industry.  Currently, she is expressing her opinions on the air at 1320 am WKAN’s The Really Big Show regarding not just blockbuster movies, but independent films, and live theater in the Chicago area as well.  Pam also attends film festivals around the country to bring you the most up to date reviews on new movies soon to hit a screen near you.  In addition, she also finds unique interviews of directors, writers, and producers in the film industry.
