Acclaimed Landscape Designer and Television Host Jamie Durie to landscape $1 billion Maddison Estate

Covering a massive 118 hectares, and perfectly situated in the Gold Coast’s booming northern corridor, the Maddison Estate will be home to about 3500 residents and will comprise a mix of houses, townhouses, apartments, shops, restaurants and world class sporting facilities. The development will be complimented with a Village Square and Central Park with an amphitheatre, 37 hectares comprising six high-quality recreation parks and three conservation parks.  The estate demonstrates best practice urban design principles ensuring each home is generally located within 250 metres to any of these parks.

Internationally renowned, Jamie Durie is an award-winning multi-disciplinary designer, horticulturist, television host, author and founder and director of Durie Design.  Jamie, who was awarded an Order of Australia Medal this year, has appeared in more than 30 television shows worldwide, including Australia’s popular Backyard Blitz, which won six Logie Awards, as well as being a regular guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show and hosting his own shows, The Outdoor Room and HGTV specials, which air in the United States.  

Jamie has completed the Al Gore Climate Project Training Course and is now an official Al Gore Climate Project Presenter.  He is also an Ambassador to many worthy causes including Earth Hour, Planet Ark, Plan International and the Children’s Cancer Institute.

Through his television shows, nine best-selling books and as editorial director of his own magazine, Jamie is recognised as pioneering and popularising outdoor living spaces.

Durie Design has created large-scale landmark designs and resorts throughout Australia and globally in Hong Kong, Singapore, the United States, Spain, Morocco and Dubai.  

Jamie has won 33 design awards, including a gold medal at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show in the UK, and has been invited to exhibit and compete at shows throughout Australia, the U.S., Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand, and Malaysia.

The Australian garden design expert says he’s flattered to be associated with his country’s unique residential development.

“Our landscape designs will reflect the unique quality of Maddison, with each precinct being its own masterpiece,” Durie said. “We believe that true art is designing a garden that gives its users a destination rather than just something to be admired from afar.

It’s anticipated, the ground-breaking Maddison Estate is expected to be finished in about seven years.

Stage one is being launched onto the market later this year and with a highly anticipated sales rush expected from both local and international buyers.
