Reva Chamblis - Poised to Move Brooklyn Park forward with Candidacy for Brooklyn Park City Council

Aug. 8, 2012 - PRLog -- A twelve-year resident of Brooklyn Park, she’s had 25 years of corporate and non-profit work experience. She’s had ongoing neighborhood involvement to leverage relationships with advocates, organizations, and city leaders.

While employed at INROADS, Inc., and WomenVenture Chamblis managed programs to train and employ hundreds of adults and college graduates. She feels getting people employed allows them to contribute and grow our economy.

As member of the Northwest Community Collaborative in Brooklyn Park, she’s encouraging Target North Corporation and other business to create new jobs and support the under-served and under-represented in neighboring areas. (Brooklyn Park has a growing immigrant population similar to Minneapolis, MN.)

An advocate for education, she’ll work to ensure all students succeed.  She’s concerned about the achievement and technology gap between minority and non-minority students and supports initiatives modeled after programs that work for student success.  

She’ll also work with the city, police officials, organizations and residents to curb and prevent crimes for safe and stable neighborhoods.  She’ll drive initiatives forward to engage at-risk youth towards positive activities together with caring adults.
