ChannelVission promotes Managed Wi-Fi services to Service Providers using its cloud platform…

Free and paid WiFi hotspots continue to proliferate in coffee shops, restaurants, libraries, public settings and businesses. So how can service providers better manage and maybe even monetize all of those hotspots? ChannelVission thinks it has the answer. The Santa Clara, California-based company has launched Cloud Hotspot services to help manage the multiple Access Points in the regional and international networks. The company claims that the cloud Hotspot services reduces the cost and complexity of providing WiFi guest access for a wide range of businesses.

ChannelVission is gaining traction in WiFi space with the focus in Asia and in specific India.  The un-licensed band, which is more economical, requires less time to deploy, and uses a wide array of managed services to deploy effective handoffs between cellular and WiFi access nodes, is getting more traction in countries with little to no infrastructure.  Although, ChannelVission does not have hardware, its cloud platform can seamlessly work with the wireless lan controllers to effectively transition from proprietary to an open based model to allow cloud services to manage the APs across the network irrespective of make or model of the access points.

The Asia market is experiencing a heavy deployment in WiFi and some of the key decisions are being made to offer WiFi services to customers requiring Broadband capability for their homes and small offices.  The deep penetration of the offices and building are being looked at from outdoor AP’s and indoor AP’s being offered in India as well as Asian countries with the wide deployment of smart phones as well as tablets.
