Aug. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Macomb, MI – At only twenty-five years old, Martina Hasenleitner, from Altmünster, Austria had been suffering with pain caused by her misaligned feet for most of her life. After undergoing a failed surgical procedure, she turned to her orthopedic surgeon who was hopeful that HyProCure® would be the perfect solution for her.

“Due to flat feet I had pain in my knees and hips. I could not do any sports and walking was only possible with extreme pains,” shared Martina.

Back in 2008, she had surgery using a temporary implant in both feet. “This procedure was painful. I needed a wheelchair for 6 weeks, because I had casts on both feet. After the 6 weeks, I had to visit a physiotherapist for 3 months because I had to learn again how to walk the right way and also stair climbing. It was a very hard time for me,” said Hasenleitner.

After the removal of the implants, her feet were rapidly deteriorating. Still finding no solution to her pain, in February 2011, she went to her orthopedist, Dr. Thomas Gruber of Gmunden, Austria. He diagnosed her with talotarsal displacement and recommended extra-osseous talotarsal stabilization (EOTTS).

Partial talotarsal dislocation is a foot imbalance that throws both the foot and the entire body out of alignment. It affects people of all ages and can be the direct cause of many symptoms and secondary conditions, including overpronation, bunions, plantar fasciitis, knee pain, hip pain, back pain, and even problems in the neck and shoulders.

The HyProCure® EOTTS device instantly stabilizes the hindfoot bones, stopping the continued trauma to the foot and body, and even possibly leading to the reversal of associated effects. HyProCure® represents a real solution for patients suffering from this condition.

Upon learning about the procedure, Martina knew this was the right choice for her.  “He told me about HyProCure®, how easy the procedure was and that I would be mobile again very quickly. I agreed to the operation immediately, because I did not want to continue with pains and restrictions. I had no other option.”

Martina had the HyProCure® procedure on her right foot March 15, 2011. “The operation was very short and I also needed only general anesthetic. One day after surgery I began walking on my foot again. The first few days I had to rest, elevate the foot and cool with ice. After that I could go like nothing happened,” exclaimed Hasenleitner.

After having her left foot done September 7, 2011, Martina is living a normal life. “I now can do sports, like going to the gym or cycling. I can wear high heels. I can go out with friends and have a good time without pain,” she shared. “Most importantly, I can go anywhere and I enjoy every step. It really changed my quality of life,” said Martina. “I would recommend HyProCure® to others. The surgery is very minimal and the result is fantastic!”
